Interact has added several features in that time, including the AI-assisted quiz maker, which I will discuss later in the review.

Interact Quiz Maker is an online quiz software that focuses on lead generation. It engages your visitors with questions and answers that dramatically improve opt-in rates.

It was launched in 2013 and is based in San Francisco, California. To date, it claims 9 million quiz completions and generates 42,000 leads per day. Its main competitors are Outgrow, Typeform, and Riddle.

Interact’s main goal is to help businesses grow by building deeper understanding and better connections with their audiences. And it does that through quizzes.

I currently have a TryInteract quiz on my website – if you visit any of my SEO articles, a popup appears that offers an SEO knowledge quiz.

Interact Quiz Features

Interact Quiz Maker has all the features you would expect in an online quiz maker designed for lead generation:

  • Customizable templates
  • Choice of question types (multiple-choice, true/false, open-ended, and more)
  • Branching logic (create personalized quiz experiences based on respondents’ answers).
  • Lead generation
  • Analytics and insights
  • Custom branding
  • Integration with 3rd party platforms
  • Social sharing
  • Mobile Optimization
  • Privacy and security

Now, let’s look at these features in more detail.

User Interface

I like the Interact Quiz Maker user interface – it’s clean and intuitive, and the tools are where you expect them to be.

The left-side panel contains the components of your quiz (questions, answers, results, lead generation, social sharing, and conversion tracking). Click on one to edit it in the main panel.

There’s no drag-and-drop interface between the side panel and the main panel. That might be an issue for some people, but it doesn’t bother me.

I like that you can see where everything is in one glance – it gives you a clear understanding of the different parts of the quiz and how they work together.

I also like the interface for matching answers to questions. Just click on a question and then click on the result you want to match it to:

My only criticism of Interact’s user interface is the tiny font – the interface would be more user-friendly with a font size that is easier to read.

Integration and Compatibility

TryInteract integrates with 35 third-party platforms and tools, including email marketing services like Mailchimp and CRMs like Salesforce. This means you can funnel the leads generated by your quizzes into your existing email sequences and automation.

Customization Options

Interact provides hundreds of customizable templates organized by industry, and this helps you to create quizzes quickly. Just select one of the 800 templates and use it as the basis for your quiz.

You can brand your quizzes with custom logos, colors, and fonts to maintain brand consistency and create a professional appearance.

Additionally, you can customize your answer choices with images, text, or a combination of both, which makes the quiz more interactive and engaging.

You can customize the outcomes and result pages based on quiz taker responses. Messages, images, and call-to-action buttons tailored to the responses of your quiz taker create a unique experience for each user based on their quiz results.

This level of customization is a great feature – it adds a personal touch to the quiz and allows you to drive specific actions or outcomes based on quiz performance.

Lead Generation

Setting up lead generation in Interact is a breeze. Customize the fields and format on the opt-in form:

Then, you can choose actions based on the results a person gets in your quiz. I’ve connected my Active Campaign account to my quiz in the example below.

For each quiz result, you can add the person to a contact list, add them to an automation, update a contact field, or tag them with a tag:

This level of integration means you can use your quizzes to set up sophisticated funnels: you can collect leads, grow your email list, segment your audience, set up retargeting campaigns, and direct people to product pages, all based on the user’s quiz results.

Even if you end up changing all the questions, answers, and results, the templates are a good starting point because they give you a structure to work with and show you how a quiz works.

Reporting and Analytics

The analytics in TryInteract give you a visual representation of key metrics such as completion rates, engagement metrics, and lead generation data.

This helps you understand how your quizzes are performing and how to optimize them for better results:

TryInteract Quiz analytics

The completion rates metric lets you see how many people start and complete your quizzes. This data helps you identify quiz drop-off points and optimize your questions and content to improve completion rates.

You can even drill down and see metrics for individual questions. This can help you identify which questions in your quiz have the highest drop-off rate:

TryInteract Quiz analytics

Analyzing individual question responses will help you understand your audience’s preferences, interests, and knowledge gaps. You can use this information to create content that is better tailored to your audience’s needs.

Additionally, TryInteract integrates with Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel, allowing you to track quiz-related traffic to your website and analyze user behavior beyond the quiz itself:

TryInteract’s reporting and analytics are as good, if not better, than what’s offered in most of the other quiz builders.

Customer Support and Documentation

The TryInteract website has Live Chat, where you can talk with an agent during business hours. You won’t get an answer immediately if it’s outside work hours, but in my experience, they nearly always respond within 24 hours.

The documentation is good, with articles that cover everything you need to get started:

They also have free courses that dive deeper and show you how to create quiz funnels and quiz nurture series:

Price and Value for Money

TryInteract has three price tiers. The main difference between these tiers is the number of quizzes you can make and the number of leads you can capture per year:

  • Lite: $27 p/month (5 quizzes and 6K leads p/year)
  • Growth: $53 p/month (20 quizzes and 24K leads p/year)
  • Pro: $125 p/month (50 quizzes and 96K leads p/year)

TryInteract definitely offers value for money. It has all the tools you need to create highly effective lead-generation quizzes, and the layout is intuitive and easy to understand.

It integrates easily with all the major email marketing platforms and CRMs and gives you plenty of options for embedding and sharing your quizzes.

When it comes to pricing, TryInteract falls within the average range. It’s not the least expensive option available, but investing in it can be worthwhile, especially if you leverage your quizzes to generate leads and boost sales.

How Does TryInteract Compare With Other Quiz Makers?

TryInteract has most of the features that other quiz builders have.

However, it doesn’t have a drag-and-drop quiz builder. Instead, the elements of your quiz (questions, answers, results, lead generation, cover page, etc.) are listed in a side panel – when you click on each item, it loads in the main editing panel.

The key features you need to look for in a lead-generation quiz builder are multiple quiz types, quiz templates, integration with email marketing services and CRMs, reporting and analytics, customization of fonts and colors, branding, branching logic, and the use of images.

The table below compares TryInteract with other quiz builders regarding these features.

AI-Assisted Quiz Creation

Interact Quiz Maker recently added an AI tool that creates your quiz for you. I took it for a spin the other day and was impressed with the results.

I often struggle with designing my quizzes: I’m unsure what the questions should be or how to frame the results.

But Interact’s AI Quiz Creator made the process quick and easy. It asked me what my quiz idea was:

TryInteract Quiz - AI assisted quiz creation

It asked me what I wanted my quiz to do:

TryInteract Quiz - AI assisted quiz creation

It asked me to choose a quiz title:

And about five minutes later, it produced the completed quiz.

I honestly couldn’t have done a better job myself. And especially not in such a short time!

Here’s the quiz it generated. I think you’ll agree with me – it’s pretty cool:

But if you are trying to build an email list or want to create a funnel that directs your visitors to the right products or services, then TryInteract could be a key part of your marketing strategy.

Summary

Of all the quiz builders I’ve tried, Interact has the most user-friendly interface.

As you work on your quiz, you can always see the quiz components in the left-side panel. I like that, and it’s a feature missing from many other online quiz builders.

The interface is neat and uncluttered, and it’s easy to understand what you must do next as you put your quiz together.

The AI quiz generator is an absolute game-changer for me. It’s a recent addition to Interact, and I’ll be making full use of it in the coming weeks.

I hope this review gave you a good idea of what TryInteract offers and how it compares with other quiz builders.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a lead generation popup?

A lead generation popup is a type of window or dialog box that appears on a website with the purpose of capturing information from visitors, typically their contact details such as name and email address.

These popups are commonly used by businesses and marketers to generate leads, which are potential customers interested in their products or services.

Lead generation popups often offer something of value to the visitor in exchange for their information, such as a discount, a free ebook, a webinar registration, or access to exclusive content.

By collecting contact information through these popups, businesses can build their email lists and initiate further communication with leads, nurturing them through the sales funnel.

The design and timing of lead generation popups can vary, but they are typically placed on web pages to maximize visibility and engagement without disrupting the user experience too much.

They are a popular tool in digital marketing for converting website traffic into leads and, ultimately, customers.

What is a lead magnet popup?

A lead magnet popup is a specific type of popup used in digital marketing to attract potential leads and encourage them to provide their contact information.

Unlike traditional popups that may simply ask for generic information, lead magnet popups offer something valuable in exchange for the visitor’s details.

The “lead magnet” refers to the incentive or offer provided to entice visitors to take action. This could be anything from a free ebook, a downloadable checklist, a discount code, a webinar registration, access to exclusive content, or a free trial of a product or service.

Lead magnet popups typically appear when a visitor performs a specific action on a website, such as spending a certain amount of time on a page, scrolling to a certain point, or attempting to exit the site.

The timing and targeting of these popups are often carefully planned to maximize their effectiveness without being overly intrusive.

The goal of a lead magnet popup is not only to capture the visitor’s contact information but also to provide them with immediate value, thereby increasing the likelihood that they will engage further with the brand and eventually become paying customers.

What are the four steps of the lead generation process?

The lead generation process typically involves several steps to turn a potential customer (a lead) into someone who is interested in your product or service and willing to provide their contact information for further engagement. Here are the four main steps:

Attracting Attention: This involves generating interest and drawing potential leads to your business. This can be done through various marketing channels such as content marketing, social media, search engine optimization (SEO), advertising, and more. The goal is to make your target audience aware of your brand and what you offer.

Offering Value: Once you have the attention of your audience, the next step is to provide them with something of value in exchange for their contact information. This could be a lead magnet such as a free ebook, a discount code, a webinar, or any other valuable content or offer that addresses the needs or pain points of your target audience.

Capturing Information: With the value proposition in place, you need to capture the contact information of your leads. This usually involves forms or opt-in boxes where visitors can enter their details, such as name and email address, in exchange for the offer. It’s important to keep these forms simple and easy to fill out to minimize friction.

Nurturing Leads: Once you’ve captured the contact information, the final step is to nurture these leads through further engagement and follow-up. This often involves email marketing, where you can continue to provide valuable content, build relationships, and guide leads through the sales funnel toward making a purchase decision.

By following these steps, businesses can effectively generate leads and convert them into paying customers over time.
